Personal Statement:
At a young age I demonstrated an interest in helping others. Eventually this mindset developed into dedicating more than ten years to human service. I begin this journey working as an educator in school districts that surrounded the metropolis of Dallas, Texas as well as in Corpus Christi, Texas. As I delved deeper into my passion for human growth and development, I sought out organizations which afforded me the opportunity to work in various local, state and county agencies that specialized in community services anywhere from foster care to clinical mental health. One of my most memorable opportunities was working with a college based in Europe as an Academic Counselor.  In this position I had the privilege of providing academic and career counseling services to active duty military personnel and veteran contractors. It was during this opportunity that I discovered my passion for working in higher education, which eventually led me to accept a position at the Student Counseling Services here at Texas A&M University.  I feel very fortunate to be able to serve our students in this capacity and look forward to embarking upon this new adventure!!!
