Crisis Intervention
During Business Hours

8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

For crisis intervention during business hours, the Student Counseling Service has a walk-in service. No appointment is needed. To use this service, go to Cain Hall, Room B-103, and tell the receptionist you need to see the Crisis Counselor. Crisis services are intended for those students who present in severe distress and who are in life-threatening/ life-altering situations. Students who can wait 2 - 3 days to be seen are urged to make an appointment.

If the situation is so critical that it cannot wait until 1:00 pm, go to Cain Hall, Room B-103, ask to see the Emergency Counselor, and tell the receptionist that you cannot wait until the afternoon.



After Business Hours, and on Weekends

4:00 p.m. -8:00 a.m. on weekdays and 24 hours per day on weekends.

For psychological crises that cannot wait until business hours:

The HelpLine can provide information, support, referrals, and will transfer you to the SCS professional staff member who can provide telephone consultation if needed. (If you need to speak to someone face-to-face, go to the nearest hospital emergency room.) If the HelpLine is unavailable, the answering machine will give you emergency instructions, or you can:



Upcoming Events
HelpLine closed for semester break.
The HelpLine is closed for semester break May 8 through May 25, 2008. The HelpLine will open at 4 PM on Monday, May 26 and resume its normal hours of operation.
