Kristie De La Garza Bio

Professional Counselor III

Personal Statement:
I'm originally from Kansas and moved to College Station after graduate school to begin a career at Texas A&M University. I really enjoy the college atmosphere Texas A&M University has to offer as well as the wonderful community. I find working with college students who are choosing new paths to explore and working to survive the transitions of college and adult life very rewarding. I have a desire to help students reach their potential at Texas A&M University and even discover untapped strengths they have not thought to use. I believe in a holistic approach when working with students, taking into consideration academic, career and personal concerns. Through processing and being aware of behavior, students can be more successful in making the changes desired to be successful at Texas A&M and in life. Outside of work, I truly enjoy and treasure time with my husband and two beautiful daughters. Outside activities, such as skiing, horseback riding, sitting in a hammock, and any water activity are relaxing for me. I'm a former student- athlete who finds enjoyment in (and now prefers) watching and supporting athletic events.
