Edgar J. Villarreal
As an aspiring mental health professional my interest included crisis intervention, particularly dealing with
traumatic events within the mental health field of natural and man-made disasters. Being a member of the
Student Counseling HelpLine, since my years as an undergraduate and now with the distinct pleasure of becoming
one of their Graduate Assistants, I have embraced the program and its volunteers as my second family. The
training, dedication and volunteer work invested by the men and women that maintain the line is one I highly
respect. Personally, I like to think myself as outgoing and a down to earth kind of guy that likes to spend
most of his time making new friends, making people laugh and being around family. During my down time, when I
am not attending classes or working the HelpLine, I like to travel, exercise, practice my bowling skills,
watch movies and play with my beautiful little Beagle pup; Abby. With that said I welcome you to the Student
Counseling Services and encourage you to meet the rest of the staff and take advantage of the services we
offer.
